Syrian people have experienced a generation on a tragic rollercoaster of hope and an unimaginable degree of devastation. The numbers are horrific, 350,000 killed and 50% the country’s population of 21 million displaced. Refugees or destroyed, emotionally or economically or both. Economy in shambles, as Syria’s GDP been halved, while more than 90 percent of the population live below the poverty line. Despite a decrease in active hostilities, returnees face a host of human rights violations, including detention, torture, disappearances, and abuse by Syrian authorities. A generation lost and no true day to day peace in sight. Welcome to 'PEACE MIRAGE'
