How to Feed 12,000 People a Day...... Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. A crippled economy from decades of political chaos makes it difficult for families to afford what food is available. Food For The Poor, a U.S. international relief and development agency, operates a 6-day a week feeding program at its warehouse in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. About 2,000 people line up each morning to take home meals to feed their families. Staff members visit each family to verify size and needs.
