Third World Pilgrimage

A pilgrimage is commonly thought of as a journey to a sacred place of religious significance, such as the Holy Lands of the Middle East. In contrast a small number of American Christians travel to the Third World seeking to come closer to God, not through a journey to a place, but through the interaction with the impoverished people who inhabit that place.
